Hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of infections. It’s a simple act that can make a big difference in your health and the health of those around you.
Why It Matters: Our hands come into contact with countless surfaces throughout the day, picking up germs that can lead to illness. Regular handwashing removes these germs, reducing the risk of infections like the flu, colds, and even more serious diseases.
How to Do It Right: Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, making sure to scrub all parts of your hands, including between your fingers and under your nails. You can also use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Make It a Habit: Practice good hand hygiene regularly, especially before eating, after using the restroom, and after coughing or sneezing. It’s a simple step that leads to better health!
