Flu season can be challenging, but with the right infection control measures, you can protect yourself and others from getting sick. Here are five essential tips to prevent the flu:
- Get Vaccinated: The flu vaccine provides great defense. It helps reduce the risk of infection and protects those around you.
- Clean Your Hands: Handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using alcohol based hand sanitizer can keep you safe.
- Cover Coughs and Sneezes: Always use your elbow to cover your mouth and nose, preventing the spread of germs.
- Avoid Close Contact: Stay away from people who are sick, and if you’re unwell, limit your interactions to avoid spreading the flu.
- Disinfect Surfaces: Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects like doorknobs, phones, and keyboards.
Stay vigilant and healthy this flu season!
